What is the cost of a one week stay?
Our base price is $600 for one week. The $600 fee is for six people. There is a charge of $25.00 for an additional person. The base rate is increased by $25 for the July Fourth weekend. The price is the same for both cottages.
What is considered a week at the cottage?
Weeks run from Saturday to Saturday. Check-in time is 1:00 PM. Check out time is 10:00 AM.
Do you require a deposit?
A non-refundable deposit of $400 is required at the time of reservation.
Do you accept credit cards?
No. Payment may be made by personal check or money order payable to Robert C. Johnston and mailed to 14135 Hotel Road, Harrisville, N. Y. 13648.
Do you require a security deposit?
Yes. A refundable security deposit of $100 is required.
Do you accept pets?
Well disciplined pets are accepted with the understanding that they will not interfere with the comfort and safety of other guests and that their owners will be responsible for clean-up. There is a charge of $25 per pet.
Is there a cleaning charge?
Our cottages are rented on a “you find it clean, you leave it clean basis.” If you prefer not to clean the cottage before your departure, there is a $50 maintenance fee.
Should I bring linens?
Yes. You should bring your own sheets, pillow cases, wash cloths, and towels. Blankets are provided if needed.
What is included with the rental?
We provide a grill, picnic table, lawn chairs, canoe, dock space, parking area, trash pick-up, beach access, and camp fire area.
What size boat can I bring?
Most of the boats on the lake are party boats and range in length from fifteen to twenty-two feet. Our dock space will accommodate a boat of that size easily.
Where can I launch my boat?
We have a launch site on the premises. It is not necessary to use one of the marinas or the state boat launch.
May I bring a jet ski?
Yes. Owners are expected to abide by New York State laws regarding their operation.
Do you ever rent on a daily rather than a weekly basis?
If by chance one of the cottages is not rented for a week, a request for one or more days will be considered. Weekly renters are given preference.
Is wireless internet service available?
Yes. Wireless internet service is available on the grounds.
Do cell phones work at the lake?
There is an AT&T tower in Harrisville. Verizon phones also work in the area. Phones from other companies, however, may not work.
How far away is the nearest city?
The village of Harrisville is five miles away; the village of Carthage is 18 miles away; The city of Watertown is 25 miles away. Harrisville has a small grocery store, a bakery, pizza shop, and a few restaurants. Carthage has a three grocery stores, a laundromat, fast food and sit-down restaurants, and a hospital. Watertown offers all the services of a large city.
